And we delivered exactly what they were looking for.
The Client: Margaritaville Resort Orlando
Drawing inspiration from the laid-back Margaritaville lifestyle, this resort located in the center of Orlando offers its patrons a one-of-a-kind escape. From its masterfully designed 187 rooms, and an enormous lagoon-style pool, to exciting dining, in-class retail, and entertainment (which includes an extensive 12-acre eater park) along with soft sand beaches, Margaritaville Resort can act as your ideal vacation destination. Offering luxury condominiums, vacation homes, and timeshares, Orlando’s Margaritaville Resort can be your new happy place. No wonder why it urges its potential customers to escape to their own sweet paradise. When Margaritaville Resort needed its business signage designed, the job entailed creating something unique that would tell the resort’s story in an engaging manner and even strengthen its branding.
For a brand like Margaritaville, we knew the business signage design needed to have elements that were engaging, interesting and yet fun – to match the resort’s laid-back Margaritaville lifestyle. At the same time, the signage should be unique that’s customized to complement the “vacation in paradise” vibe that every aspect of Margaritaville emphasizes upon.
Since a majority of guests coming to this resort preferred to spend a significant time enjoying its beach and the water park, we thought a flip flop hour’s sign would be the ideal business signage for its sales office. By showcasing this leisure resort’s fun vibe and enticing people coming to the sales office to inquire about it and make bookings, this signage would surely help in Margaritaville’s branding and encourage people to step inside the office to check what was on offer.
We chose three bright flip-flop shapes in orange, green, and blue. One featured the resort’s name, while the other two displayed the work hours and mentioned the shortened time on Wednesdays and Sundays. All three flip-flop signs were strung on a rope, which was hung on the exterior wall of the resort’s sales office – just beside the door.
For Margaritaville Resort, telling its story in an engaging manner through its unique business signage was of utmost importance. At the same time, branding too mattered as the resort wanted to promote its fun, laid-back lifestyle to entice vacationers. With our colorful and playful flip flop hour’s sign, we delivered just what Margaritaville wanted for encouraging people into spending a few days, or a week/weekend/month at what they call a paradise on earth.
